December 21st is special to the Chinese as it's the start of Winter Solstice or Dong zhi 冬至 which literally means ' the extreme of winter.'

Dong zhi is celebrated by many, with the eating of Jiao-zii 饺子 (dumplings) and dishes containing lamb, ginger or duck. These are thought to be the best foods for keeping out the cold and keeping you healthy during the coldest winter months.

So why not join us on the 21st and celebrate a centuries old Chinese tradition of eating your way through the shortest night of the year!
